Tracking tools

Let the plugin load your tags after consent, hold back tags added by other plugins, and scan your site for them.

The Tracking tools tab at Kavin Studios → DPDP Consent controls which tags wait for consent. It has three parts: tags the plugin loads for you, tags added by your theme or other plugins, and Google Consent Mode v2.

The Tracking tools tab
Tracking tools: enter the IDs of tools the plugin should load, and scan the site to find tags added by the theme or other plugins.

Tags this plugin loads

Only fill in a tool you actually use. Enter its ID and the plugin adds that tag for you, but only after the visitor allows its category. Leave the rest empty.

Field Category Example Where to find it
Google Analytics 4 measurement ID Analytics G-XXXXXXXXXX Google Analytics → Admin → Data streams → your website
Google Ads tag ID Advertising AW-123456789 Google Ads → Tools → Data manager → Google tag
Meta Pixel ID Advertising 123456789012345 Meta Events Manager → Data sources → your pixel. Numbers only.
Microsoft Clarity project ID Analytics abcd1234ef Clarity → Settings → Overview → Project ID
Microsoft Ads UET tag ID Advertising 12345678 Microsoft Ads → Tools → UET tag → Tag ID
  1. Enter the IDs you use.
  2. Click Save tags.

If an ID is in the wrong format, it is not saved and you see "Not saved, because the format looks wrong". Check the example under the box and try again.

Remove the same tag from your theme or other plugins so it is not added twice. If the plugin finds the same tag added elsewhere, the field shows a warning that visits are counted twice.

Site Kit by Google

If Site Kit is installed, the plugin reads its Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager and AdSense IDs automatically. Nothing needs copying across. When Site Kit knows an Analytics or Ads ID but its own tag is switched off, the field shows "Using G-XXXXXXX from Site Kit" and this plugin loads that tag after consent. The plugin never changes Site Kit's settings.

Tags added by your theme or other plugins

Tags pasted into the theme or added by plugins such as Site Kit or Facebook for WooCommerce are held back the same way.

  1. Leave Hold back known tracking tags until the visitor agrees switched on.
  2. Click Save.

The plugin recognises Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, AdSense, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity and Ads, Hotjar, Jetpack Stats, WooCommerce order attribution, TikTok Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag.

Google AdSense is found and listed, but it is not held back. Until the visitor allows Advertising, it runs in limited-ads mode with no ad cookies and no personalisation. The list shows it as Limited ads until consent.

Scan my site now

Click Scan my site now to open your key pages as a logged-out visitor would. The scan reads your home page and your latest post. On a WooCommerce shop it also reads the shop, cart, checkout and My Account pages and a product page.

Everything it finds appears under Found on your site, with:

  • the tool name and its category
  • its state: Waits for consent or Not held back
  • the tag ID, for example G-XXXXXXX
  • Added by: the plugin that added it, such as Site Kit, Rank Math, MonsterInsights, GTM4WP, PixelYourSite, Facebook for WooCommerce or WPCode, or "theme or pasted code"

Pages are also checked as visitors browse, so tags that appear only on some pages are added over time. Clear this list empties the list; scan again to rebuild it.

If the scan says it could not open your pages, your host may block the site from loading its own pages. Visit your home page, a product page and the checkout in a private window instead. Tags found there appear in the list.

Always on. Nothing to set up.

When What Google receives
Page loads All four Google signals are set to denied before any tag can run.
Visitor allows Analytics analytics_storage: granted
Visitor allows Advertising ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization: granted
Visitor says no Google tags are not loaded at all (basic mode), so no data reaches Google.

Microsoft Ads (UET) and Clarity receive the same choice through their own consent settings.

Next, set up the wording and notice details in Banner and notice.
