Shortcodes
Every shortcode in the free plugin and Pro, what each one shows and where to place it.
Add a shortcode to a page, post, widget or footer where your theme accepts shortcodes. In the block editor, use a Shortcode block.
Free plugin
These work with Kavin DPDP Cookie Consent on its own.
[kvn_dpdp_choices]
What it shows: a "Privacy choices" link. Clicking it opens the banner so the visitor can change or withdraw their choice.
Where to place it: your footer or a menu. Use it if you turn off the floating Privacy choices button on the Banner and notice tab. Withdrawing must be as easy as agreeing.
The link text comes from the "Privacy choices" button setting. To use different text on one link, add text:
[kvn_dpdp_choices text="Cookie settings"]
It shows nothing when your site has no tracking tools, because there is no banner to open.
[kvn_dpdp_form_notice]
What it shows: a one-line notice. It is your Form notice sentence, followed by a Privacy notice link and "Grievance contact:" with your grievance email. For example:
We use these details only to reply to your enquiry. · Privacy notice · Grievance contact: privacy@example.in
Where to place it: under a contact or enquiry form.
Set the sentence, notice page and email on the Banner and notice tab. To use a different sentence under one form, add text:
[kvn_dpdp_form_notice text="We use these details only to send your quote."]
This shortcode works even when your site has no tracking tools.
Pro
These need Kavin DPDP Cookie Consent Pro with an active licence. Pro needs the free plugin installed and active.
[kvn_dpdp_rights_form]
What it shows: the privacy request form. Visitors choose what they want you to do, enter their details and confirm by email.
Where to place it: a page of its own, for example "Your privacy rights". Choose that page in Page with the request form on the Requests tab, and link it from your privacy notice. See Privacy requests.
[kvn_dpdp_response_time]
What it shows: your response time as text, for example "30 days". It uses the We reply within (days) setting on the Requests tab.
Where to place it: in your privacy notice or anywhere you tell visitors how long you take to reply.
[kvn_dpdp_privacy_notice]
What it shows: the full privacy notice, with its language menu at the top.
Where to place it: your privacy notice page. The Put the notice on this page button on the Privacy notice tab adds it for you, or you can add it yourself. It also works in Elementor Shortcode widgets. See Privacy notice.
[kvn_dpdp_notice_languages]
What it shows: "Read this notice in:" followed by links to your privacy notice in every language that has a page of its own.
Where to place it: at the top or bottom of your notice pages, if you wrote separate notice pages per language. Pages are chosen in the Privacy notice page column on the Languages tab.
It shows nothing unless at least two languages have a page. If you use [kvn_dpdp_privacy_notice], you do not need it, because that notice has its own language menu.
